Those born into flamenco blame the disappearance of raw, gut-wrenching flamenco on agents and audiences who they see as invading their world. However, some outsiders also blame the commercialization in part on the gypsies' inability to organize and defend themselves. Many still cannot read contracts and few write well. Nearly all look down on self-promotion as a prostitution of their music.
